Hello everyone! About 2 weeks ago I had a Presentation on AVID. (AVID is one of the electives I chose to take this year.) In the presentation I had to research a college I am interested in attending. As a result, I choose Baylor College of Medicine. Some of this information may not be up to date because I did research and write this paper in 2022 so please be aware of that. Hello! Good evening everyone, my name is Aanya and the college I choose to research is Baylor College of Medicine.
This college is a private school and is located in Houston, Texas. It takes about 3 hours and 30 minutes to get there from my school. This college welcomes all students. female, male, and people of any race or culture.
Because it’s in Texas, if I go there I will have to pay an in-state tuition fee which is $19,425. You need to have an average GPA of 3.93 to get into this college. Students who manage to get into Baylor’s College of Medicine usually have an SAT score of 1,293 and an MCAT score of 517.
As you can see from the scores they accept, they are very selective of the students they choose. The acceptance rate for this college is 3%.
Each year you will probably end up spending about $27,955. And for out-of-state students, the price can shoot up to $41,055.

The reason I want to go to this college is that it is ranked very high for lots of things like research and primary care. It is also said that Baylor College of Medicine is ranked #1 in Texas as the best medical school. And also Baylor College of Medicine is very cheap compared to the other private schools.
The majors I am interested in doing are Psychology, Biology, Genetics, and Biochemistry. But I want to major in biology because in the future I hope to become a surgeon. And being a surgeon is all about biology.
