What is the brain?
Hello Friends! Today I am going to tell you about ” How Does Our Brain Works and some facts about the brain”. So let’s get started.
The brain is an organ which controls everything that the body needs. It is the BOSS of our body. The brain weight is about 3 pounds.
Do you know that how many messages do the brain receives in one second?
It is 11 million bits per second from the environment.
There are 3 parts of the brain:
- Cerebrum: It is the biggest part of the brain. It controls talking, remembering, thinking and moving.
- Cerebellum: It helps us to keep balance and keeps our muscles working together.
- Medulla: It is the lower part of the brain. Medulla keeps the heart beating and controls breathing. All of the parts in the brain helps us every day, every second.
How Does Our Brain Works:
Our brain receives messages from the 5 sense organs, which is Eyes, Nose, Tounge, Ear, and Skin.
Suppose, something hot thing touched my hand. And instantly I moved my hand. How do we know that we should move our hand?
This is what happened.
- As the hot thing touched my skin, suddenly my nerve cells received the message and transferred it to the Spinal Cord quickly as lightning speed.
- Then the spinal cord gives the message to the Brain Stem. And the brain stem gives the message where it supposed to go.
- After then the brain gives back the message to the brain stem.
- Then the brain stem gives the message to the spinal cord and spinal cord gives it to nerve cell.
- Then it gives it to the place where the hot thing touched the skin. And that’s how we know when to move our hand.
There are two types of nerve cells.
- Sensory Nerves: It takes the messages of the different sense organs and gives it to the brain.
- Motor Nerves: It takes the messages from the brain to move the body parts.
